Hospital discharge has long interrupted vital-sign monitoring, leaving a blind spot between the ward and the community that delays interventions and drives readmissions. CareLink closes that gap with a remote monitoring platform built around clinical-grade devices - blood pressure, pulse oximetry, thermometry, weight and a smart watch - paired over Bluetooth to a cellular hub that streams readings directly into the Trust's Epic EHR. No home WiFi, no app setup, no technical literacy required from the patient.
I led the architecture and engineering of the system within the EPIC (FHIR R4) ecosystem, including a "scan and go" wristband flow that auto-links equipment to the right patient, and a clinician dashboard that computes NEWS2 scores, surfaces trend analysis and raises automated alerts. The kits are reusable at around £200 a unit with sub-6p daily data costs, making the model scalable from acute discharge into care homes.
For people living with motor neurone disease and other severe motor impairments, losing the ability to control a wheelchair often means losing the last meaningful piece of physical independence. This project gives that control back through eye movement alone - no head motion, no switches, no carer input.
The system pairs an eye-tracking mixed-reality headset with a custom receiver unit, overlaying virtual control buttons on the user's real-world view. The same input layer drives a powered wheelchair, remote-control vehicles, model train sets and other household electronics, and supports eye-gaze communication using the patient's own voice where pre-banked recordings exist. The work was recognised with the SWPCA 2025 award for Choice and Control for its application of technology to accessibility and independence.
Due Process is a tactical multiplayer shooter built around a planning phase: before each round, teams of attackers map out an entry plan over a top-down blueprint of a procedurally arranged building, then execute it under live fire. It's published by Annapurna Interactive and developed at Giant Enemy Crab, the indie studio I ran as Studio Lead after the community took over the studio.
I oversaw the studio's operation and technical direction across development, production and delivery, contributing hands-on in C# and Unity alongside the leadership work. During my tenure the game shipped over quarter of a million copies in a single calendar year.
LEGO Universe was a LEGO-themed MMO that shut down in 2012, taking a lot of childhood memories with it. Darkflame Universe is the community-driven effort to bring it back - a server reimplementation that lets people host the game privately for friends and family.
The project began in 2013 and, after legal pressure in 2021, the team released the server software as open source under AGPL-3.0 so the game could continue to live on through self-hosting rather than any single public server. I've contributed to the project on and off since childhood; it's the work that first taught me what reverse engineering, networking and large-scale game systems actually look like under the hood.
Greenpower F24 is a national championship in which school teams design, build and race their own single-seater electric cars at venues including Goodwood, Silverstone, Castle Combe and Dunsfold. I joined Torquay Academy's team during my GCSEs with the unique skill of software engineering (for Year 8 students).
My role was to instrument the car and turn race-day data into decisions the driver and pit crew could actually use - lap pacing, battery draw, motor and component temperatures - so we could squeeze the most distance out of a fixed energy budget rather than burning it on the first few laps. It was my first real exposure to engineering under competitive constraints, and a lot of the instincts I still use around instrumentation and data-driven iteration started there.
